A bomb expert is sent to the US embassy in Bucharest to defuse an old cold war bomb that is stored in the basement. Unexpectedly, a group of terrorists representing the “Serbian Liberation Front” raid the embassy, killing a number of people and taking 37 hostage. The special mission operative must save his son and an old flame. Meanwhile an anti-terrorist squad is sent on the rescue mission. The squad leader turns out to be old friends with the head terrorist.

Tom Witzky is a lineman for a utility company. He’s a typical working-class guy who lives in Chicago with his pregnant wife Maggie and his son Jake. Tom likes to hang out with his friends, who include Frank McCarthy and Harry Damon. One night at a party, Tom ends up in a discussion with Maggie’s sister Lisa, who believes in psychic communication and the power of hypnosis. Tom challenges Lisa to hypnotize him, and she plants in him a post-hypnotic suggestion to be more open-minded…with results that were never, ever expected. That night, he sees images of violence and the ghost of Samantha Kozac, a young woman who disappeared from the neighborhood some time ago, and is now believed to be dead. Jake also sees Samantha’s ghost, but while Jake is calm about it, Tom always seems angry that the images won’t stop coming. Jake’s baby-sitter Debbie Kozac is Samantha’s sister, who is still distraught because of Samantha’s disappearance. When Debbie discovers that Jake has been talking to Samantha’s ghost, Debbie becomes frantic, and she thinks Jake may know where Samantha is. Now, eight years later, Bobby hands a letter to his grandmother Evangeline and asks Evangeline to go to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to hire Harvard law professor Paul Armstrong to clear Bobby’s name. At Harvard, Paul is attacking capital punishment in a campus debate, when Evangeline arrives and hands the letter to Paul. Paul goes home, where his wife Laurie is throwing a birthday party for their young daughter Katey. Laurie reads the letter and she encourages Paul to take the case, even though he hasn’t practiced law in 25 years. Paul, Laurie, and Katey head to Florida, where Paul meets Bobby in the prison. Bobby tells Paul his side of the story and what Tanny and Wilcox did. Paul begins to believe that Bobby was railroaded. Bobby tells Paul to speak to Blair Sullivan, a man who is also on death row. Blair gives Paul some clues that could prove Bobby’s innocence — and Blair’s own guilt. But in the process of trying to clear Bobby, Paul learns some disturbing truths about Bobby, putting Paul and his family in a fight for their lives.

Just before WWI, brothers Monte and Roy Rutledge visit Germany with Karl, their German pal at Oxford . When war breaks out Karl is called back to Germany and ends up on a Zepplin bombing London. He directs the bombs so that they fall harmlessly in water. Monte and Roy join the RAF. They’re not too happy about the war either, but they volunteer for a dangerous mission bombing a German munitions dump.

Con l’aiuto di una aspirante attrice riesce fare delle esperienze ’sul campo’. Dopo varie peripezie, si trova coinvolto in un errore giudiziario ed è condannato ai lavori forzati. Cerca di svelare la propria identità, ma non viene creduto. Durante la permanenza in carcere si rende conto che i detenuti trovano sollievo alla sofferenza di essere rinchiusi solo guardando film di cartoni animati. Alla fine viene riconosciuta la sua innocenza e viene rilasciato. Questa esperienza gli servirà molto per capire che in momenti difficili l’essere umano ha bisogno di gioia e, quindi, decide di tornare alle sue commedie.

A drug dealer shoots a corrupt police officer. Though the drug dealer admits his guilt, he pleads self-defense. His lawyer, Roland Dalton, and a “blue jean cop”, Richie Marks, pursue evidence in his favor. They encounter difficulties from other corrupt police officers, drug dealers, and various street scum. Dalton’s life is further complicated by the fact that the prosecuting attorney is a former lover.
